I want to share my excitement about the location of the MACCC Conference at the San Diego Mission Marriott, November 20-21, 2008

  • The hotel is gorgeous
  • The weather is gorgeous
  • Cloud 9 Shuttle and others will whisk you from the airport to the hotel – the shuttle kiosk is across the street from baggage claim at the airport – it’s about a 15 minute direct drive, or up to an hour if there other hotel stops along the way
  • The performance and rehearsal rooms have high ceilings that provide a live acoustic for performers
  • Breakout sessions will be exciting and pertinent and are based upon requests from your colleagues at the last convention
Restaurants and “watering holes” at the hotel are gorgeous and close by
  • Restaurants off site are close by, and there are many choices for your students concerned about their finances
  • The trolley stop is a short three minute walk that connects to Old Town and San Diego for about $2

At the top of almost all convention goers list for reasons to attend a MACCC Conference is the chance to “network” with colleagues from other campuses. I can’t imagine a nicer hotel for the price of $139 in this location to interact with your colleagues and attend a conference. At the top of MY list about why I attend MACCC conferences is to be exposed to the entire spectrum of community college music. It’s not just for band directors, choir directors, piano teachers, theory teachers, music history teachers, guitar teachers, chairs, deans, presidents, students – it’s for all areas. So, come pursue life-long learning with new colleagues in a gorgeous location.
Sincerely,

Dr. Ronald M. Kean
