The purpose of MACCC is:

  • to advance music education in the Community Colleges of California

  • to function as the professional organization representing all community college music teachers in California

  • to be the representative, when called upon, to the Executive Committee of the California Music Educator’s Association

  • to work with those agencies seeking to maintain dignity, worth, and excellence in California education through conferences, institutes, research, investigation, and publication of reports

  • to be the music representative, when called upon, to the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges

ADVOCACY ALERT!

SB1440 Transfer Degree:  Be sure to attend our
November 16-18 MACCC Conference in San Francisco
to participate in an open forum and vetting of the ASCCC Music TMC (transfer degree template). The President and lead for the C-ID project will be present.

The Legislative Analyst Office (LAO) has recently released a report recommending that repeatability be curtailed for music and other activity courses. Be sure to stay informed and keep MACCC apprised of how this may be playing out at your campus.
